User account

The Wichita Moms website would like to welcome you. The following is information regarding user registration and how joining the community will work.

PLEASE READ THIS PAGE CAREFULLY

User membership with the site is moderated in order to provide a safe environment for all members and their families in the community. To help get you started, the information below will explain how membership works with the Wichita Moms website. There are two levels of membership for the site:

New Users - New users are those who were not invited to the site by another member but have registered with the site via this page. As a new user, you will be able to

  • Add information to your Member profile (This is a requirement to be promoted to a Member)

This is an opportunity to introduce yourself to other users of the community and get to know those who are a part of the community. Once you have met (in person) at least one of the Members of the community, you will be promoted to a Member. New User events are held periodically where you can meet Members in a safe and neutral environment. There are exceptions to this rule in certain circumstances.

Members - Members are those who have either been brought to the site by a current Member invitation or New Users who have been promoted after meeting other site members in person. Members have full access to all site content with little to no moderation of content posting.

We have only a few basic rules - all of them we learned in kindergarten:

  • Play nice and be nice to others.
  • Don't throw, hit or speak mean words.
  • Always share everything.
  • Be honest.
  • Do not create drama. If you have an issue with someone, address that person directly and resolve the issue. Those creating drama will be BANNED.

Photo and Signature Posting

  • Post family photos in the profile area. Photos should be no more than 450 px wide. If you need help resizing them, send a PM to themacgeek (Webmaster)
  • Avoid posting more than one item in your signature. Please limit signature images to no more than 450px wide by 200px tall.
  • Make sure photos are appropriate for family viewing and that they are cropped to less than 450 px in width. Generally photos cropped to 450px in width are easily viewable but do not cause long download times for site members on slower connections.

Member Forums

  • When posting in the forums, try to post new topics as questions and write in complete sentences. This just makes life easier for everyone.
  • Do not use the website for business promotion unless it is addressed in the proper area of the site. Typically this will be in the Forums under Business Advertising.

Additional Guidelines

  • Remember this is a family friendly site. Act accordingly.
  • Avoid using last names anywhere on the website. Although this is a moderated site, it is safer to avoid the use of last names.
